Welcome to Monogram This and More, where creativity meets personal touch. It all began 25 years ago when I bought a plain jumper for my one-year-old daughter. Wanting to add something special, I embroidered colorful flowers on the jumper using my newly upgraded home sewing machine. That simple project sparked a passion for embroidery, which has since grown into the business you see today.
The Early Days: A Love for Fabrics
From a young age, I’ve always had a love for fabric and sewing. I vividly recall receiving fabric swatches through mail orders with my mom. I would hand-sew them into various items—whether it was a dress for my dolls or a scarf for my dog, I was always creating. This early experience led me to pursue an undergraduate degree in Home Economics Education. I taught middle school and high schoolers for several years before pivoting to Library work.
After a few years of teaching, I discovered another passion: gathering information and learning. That passion led me to earn a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science. However, when I became a mother, my focus shifted back to embroidery and creative design.
Fifteen years ago, my family relocated to Tennessee, and that move marked the next chapter for Monogram This and More. I continued learning new embroidery techniques and apparel decorating methods. My small home-based business specializes in monogramming and embroidery.
